The Leap Of Fatih Explained

Picture
The Leap of Faith involves having a basic belief in yourself and a fundamental trust in the vision of who, what , and where you want to be in this life. It also invloves the belief that good things will happen when you choose to transform your life. I will also add as a spiritual reference , trust in the confidence of the One who has created you.

I would share that I took a leap of faith when I proposed to my wife. I believed that I could offer her a better life and together we could make up a dream team. This was a vision I had since a boy, to have and raise a family.

Another story I would share is that I had a vision of playing in the NFL. I worked hard as a teen , knowing that I could get there one day, dont know how but it could happen. I prayed about it, I exercised like it, I ate like it, I read like it, I watched like it. I sold out to it and was then invited to the NFL combine after college.

So let me explain more in detail and give you some pointers; to take the leap of faith does not promise you smooth sailings, it will not make everything clear. That is the exciting part, it is a journey full of turns, obstacles and challenges.

That is the exciting part, it is a journey full of turns, obstacles and challenges.

Keep these three keys in mind:
  1. If you don't take the leap you can live a life of regrets.
  2. Taking a leap of faith is a rough road but well worth the trip
  3. You taking a leap gives others the permission to take their leap

I pray this encourages you today-

Investing Into The Greater

Picture
Just had a great weekend and I don’t ever use it lightly when I say that. To me a great weekend meant that I grew in some area in my life and am more equipped to be the better husband, father, leader I know to be. I am curious what make a great weekend for you? Of course there are fun weekends, full of relaxation, entertainment or projects done. But this weekend was special because I invested into something very important to me.

Okay, you are thinking what is this thing you did and I am going to share what I did in a minute. But I want to share the results first.
  1. I admitted my faults- This is important because vulnerability is key to growth. We all have faults and I wouldn't expect anything less. If you can say you have none, I have a number you can call to get some therapy (lol)
  2. I received forgiveness — Wait what?! Forgiveness is another important stepping stone to personal, spiritual development. Forgiveness is never for the other person but for you. I needed to know I was forgiven and a clean slate awaits.
  3. I was encouraged about my strengths — Do you have strengths? Of course you do, but it may not be recognized consistently day in and day out. It’s the little moments when you can remind yourself or encourage yourself of the strengths of greatness you do have.

Life Hack: Record yourself on your voice memo about what your strengths are and the positive affirmations you need to hear and play it every night for 21 days.

So, what did I do I attended a marriage conference with my wife. Yes, I invested into what is super important to me. Any time I think I have it all together I am in trouble. We have been married for 20 years this week and I need to grow more in this area more than ever. More than the first five years or the last 10 years.

My encouragement for you is that you will invest into what is important to you: Family, Marriage, Finances, Friendships, Spirit.

Does Change Bring Opportunity?

Picture
I’ve had a recent fascination with the psychological impact change has in our lives. I recall when I left Utah in 2008 to lead a non profit and work on a startup of a for profit, life surely changed. I went from a six figure income to spending through my savings to going on welfare, I never thought it would be like that, but it was!
Change is a constant of life , sometimes its chosen by us and sometimes it is thrust upon us, the real question what will you do about it? I wanted to share a few thoughts about what I learned from my life journey.
What I learned during that change-
  1. Change is a constant of life-We are ever changing in our bodies and minds every day. We will exit this earth in a changed body from when we started. Relationships change, jobs change, pursuits change, etc.
  2. Feel it — This process I put second but it took me the longest to equate to. When I finally allowed myself to feel the pain and the disappointment and the hurt, was when I finally began to heal.
  3. Write out the story in your head — Flesh it out, put it n paper the story that is running through your head ; good or bad.
  4. Write out the story you want to have about the change — this one is important because we are only capable to thinking about one thought at a time, and we want to replace the destructive thinking with the whole, positive story we desire. Not that it is an actual state, but something we want to work towards.
  5. Increase your self care — what brings you joy, excitement or the thing that makes you feel better (keep it positive)
Change does bring lots of opportunity, and it could be the best thing that ever happens to you. In my case it changed my persepective and allowed me to be more grateful in life.

Some Days You Feel Off & How To Get It Back

Picture
Have you ever experienced it in your life when you can’t see to find a rhythm. The kind of rhythm in life that says all is working well, your mental game is on, you are feeling accomplished and confident. Some days I just feel off. Who is with me?

I start to think about all the coaching of people and the coaching I have received when slumps happen, or that non syncing felling is present. And, all that pops into my head is to take action, move towards something. Honestly I was struggling to write this blog, I didn’t know which direction to go, I shut my computer a couple of times, placed my head on the desk and asked what is that you all need to hear today. I still didn’t have any direction, and then…

An idea came to me, just be honest about where I am in this moment, and by the time you read this I will have felt accomplished and grateful for being able to spill a small part of myself onto this page. I wonder what are some things you may do to get that feeling off of you?

Here are a couple of tips I’d like to share:
  1. Make a physical motion: Physical motion could be head to gym, and just walk or run or whatever makes you feel good. How about just cleaning up your house/apartment , take your animal for a walk. Maybe if you have children play with your kids or do something creative in physical nature. The thing you do not want to do is to just sit and do mindless roll on your phone or sit and watch TV to drown things out.
  2. There is a force that is against you: Here is a very important thing to understand, creativity has an enemy. When you want to or need to productive the most, it seems there are all kinds of distractions that come your way. Even more there is a quicksand of thinking, kind of like there isn’t a connection going on. If you can realize this you can be encouraged because it is the direction you are to go in that moment.

Honestly Maximizer I just want to encourage you to live your best life and I know that when you are exercising your gifts and talents you are maximizing your moments.
