I’ve had a recent fascination with the psychological impact change has in our lives. I recall when I left Utah in 2008 to lead a non profit and work on a startup of a for profit, life surely changed. I went from a six figure income to spending through my savings to going on welfare, I never thought it would be like that, but it was!
Change is a constant of life , sometimes its chosen by us and sometimes it is thrust upon us, the real question what will you do about it? I wanted to share a few thoughts about what I learned from my life journey. What I learned during that change-
Hope this blesses you today- Coach Milton Have you ever experienced it in your life when you can’t see to find a rhythm. The kind of rhythm in life that says all is working well, your mental game is on, you are feeling accomplished and confident. Some days I just feel off. Who is with me? I start to think about all the coaching of people and the coaching I have received when slumps happen, or that non syncing felling is present. And, all that pops into my head is to take action, move towards something. Honestly I was struggling to write this blog, I didn’t know which direction to go, I shut my computer a couple of times, placed my head on the desk and asked what is that you all need to hear today. I still didn’t have any direction, and then… An idea came to me, just be honest about where I am in this moment, and by the time you read this I will have felt accomplished and grateful for being able to spill a small part of myself onto this page. I wonder what are some things you may do to get that feeling off of you? Here are a couple of tips I’d like to share:
Honestly Maximizer I just want to encourage you to live your best life and I know that when you are exercising your gifts and talents you are maximizing your moments. Blessings Coach Milton There are over seven billion people on this planet earth and no one else has your DNA. None of them, histories past non are like you.
You have been the only one designed. After you were designed and birthed in this world, that mold was broken. Understand how unique and special and awesome you are. You are worthy of all the great things your life has in store. My job today is to encourage you to live out your unique life and find your style. You know I was thinking about how often we try to compare ourselves. A good man was talking about not comparing yourself to other people today and when comparing it creates frustration, doubt and sense of stress. How disappointing that is for our life, for our mind and our soul. And the disappointment of comparing ourselves to others in this world never lives up to our trust style. Your style is what makes this world a beautiful thing- Having a conversation with my wife and she was talking about how the women so much compare themselves to what they see. Maybe it’s on television, through magazines, on social media, through any outlet that entertainment can bring — anything that is all about the look. Having that look and then try to compare yourself to that person that you are seeing, that if you don’t look like that person, then there’s got to be something that is so wrong with me. And that is a lie. Listen to me maximizers — that is a lie, a lie and another lie because you were designed on purpose, created for your unique style. And there is a purpose for your life. 24/7 Nature around us is displaying it’s unique style and it does not get old, its cherished the longer we can appreciate in life. And that’s why todays talk on being unique and embracing that, fully embracing your uniqueness, style and being proud of who you are. Three ways to live your style-
Allow this to encourage you to live your style this year. Coach Milton Here is a great illustration of what it takes to breakthrough in your life. You pick the destination, whether its a calling or a passion to pursue, the biggest obstacle is yourself period.
I dealt with this knowing I wanted to lose 50+ lbs and I was such in a rut that thinking I could do it was a far fetched idea. you see even in this illustration you only see yourself, this illustration doesn’t point or show those that love you that would surround you as well, shouting from the sidelines. Success requires massive change in some areas and small changes in others. For instance you are making minimum wage and desire to make six figures or $100K , guess what if you don’t have a vehicle or direction to do that you will need to find one. It could be a massive step but doable. Maybe, you need to lose 100lbs and I am on that journey, there are some massive steps you need take and some major choices longterm to reach that goal. But, make your “I want to do it” move to “how do I do it” as fast as possible. I guarantee you already know how to do it. Yourself tomorrow will always be grateful for what you do today to set him or her up for success. Take the next step challenge until you can say “Yes, I did it!” I hope this encourages you today as it has encouraged me. Blessings Coach Milton How do I think Good thoughts? Ok. This is a simple formula and here it is: Input → Thoughts → Action When I was in junior high and high school, my father made me listen to and read a book called , “where there is a will, there is an A.” This short read now but long at the time, was a seed planted to set me on the course to think good thoughts. I use this philosophy as an anchor when i am facing tough situations or challenging thoughts in my life. I wish I can say how easy this process is but it is not , and in most cases a journey of trial and error. The mind is a powerful thing and I say we use it well beneath it’s ability as problem solver. I am convinced what we dwell upon will at some level come to us. I know that thought can seem out there in space a bit, but it’s true. In fact, the idea that your mind can change your world almost seems too good to be true. I can assure you, however, that I have experienced AND witnessed the good that focusing on the positive can bring. But before I get into that, let me ask you a question. Can you guess what the most successful and happy people think about all day long? The answer is quite simple… They think about what they input in their mind whether external or internally. If its just an ability to hold a goal or focus on a task that brings them to fulfillment or it is the ability to create positive boundaries in your mind. Using pictures, words, audio, video as your tools to constantly bring you to the place where you are thinking good thoughts. Think Good Thoughts and you win! Blessings on your journey- Coach Milton You don’t have to be in the driver’s seat trying to control the direction of everything. This doesn’t mean we should sit back and do nothing. It just means trusting our inner wisdom to guide us from moment to moment. Don’t create a life where you need a lot of detailed plans, check lists, and to-do lists. We try to imagine everything that we’ll do. How everything will play out. How to solve all our problems at once. But it’s impossible. We have to take it one moment at a time. And things often turn out differently than we imagined. Focus on What You Can Control, Leave What You Can’t “Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.” — Steve Maraboli Knowing the difference between the things we can control and the things we can’t is a topic that comes up frequently, both in my own self-reflection and in conversations with others too. It manifests in many contexts and situations but always comes back to a single principles: We can control our input, but we can’t control the outcome I can control how I show up in my relationships but I can’t control what other people think of me. I can control how much time and effort I put into preparing for goals, but I can’t control when it shows up in my life. I can control how diligently I work to lose weight to be fit, but I can’t control of the timing and where the fat comes off of. In all of these situations, we can influence the outcome, but we can’t control it. This was a huge learning curve for me when my wife was pregant after our first miscarriage. There are certain things most, if not all, pregnant people and couples worry about: miscarriage, birth complications, the baby’s health, whether baby is early or late and so on. These are the big things. They are also the things that, ultimately, I can’t control. I can influence them, but I don’t get a final say on how they turn out and worrying about them doesn’t change this. After spending weeks obsessing over every twinge and ache my wife would have, I made a decision: to focus purely on the things I have control over and to accept that, for everything else, just let it be. I discovered that, while I didn’t have control over many of the big things, there was a laundry list of smaller things I did have control over: how I loved my wife, how I kept attention on my other children, making sure my wife got to her appointments and would be as stress free as possible plus so much more. Does this mean I was completely worry free? No, but that worry was tapered by reminding myself to refocus on how I can make a difference, rather than spending precious time and energy worrying about all the areas in which I can’t. I pray this helps you on your journey in life and remember to maximize the moments. Coach Milton

This is my truth, I have one life to live , one day at a time. A portion of my journey is that I have survived a few near death experiences and a traumatic childhood incident. I am grateful for this day and grateful for this life I have to live because I can happily say it’s my life to live and I live it for the day I pass over into eternity. I am really surprised at the amount of people that walk thru life as short as it is depressed, bored, lifeless.
I completely understand having trials in life that lead to depression, what I don’t get is a life lived of boredom. I tell my children, whenever I hear, “I’m bored” I tell then truth then you must be boring. ? we as humans are the most creative beings walking on planet earth and we are full of creativity at every turn. You don’t have to accept my truth that everyday above ground is a good day and that I live being reminded that after I pass from this life eternity is waiting, that’s why I pursue my passion and purpose to help others launch their dreams and bring hope where there seems to be none. Coach Milton What is optimism?
Optimism is a hopeful, positive outlook on the future, yourself, and the world around you. It is a key part of resilience the inner strength that helps you get through tough times. By definition, optimism helps you see, feel, and think positively. But it has extra benefits you might not know about—optimism helps keep up your physical health too. You don't have to be a "born optimist" to use the power of optimism. In daily life, or when faced with a crisis, you can choose a positive viewpoint to make the most of what life brings your way. Can you make optimism work for you? Even if you tend to focus on the negative side of things, "realistic optimism" can work for you. With realistic optimism, you don't just expect the best and hope that things will go well. Nor do you let yourself see and expect only the worst. Instead, you look at the "big picture," the good and the bad. You then: · Decide what is realistic to expect. · Decide what you can do to make things go as well as possible. · Choose to focus on the positives, and on your strengths, as you go forward. For example, let's say you are about to have a knee surgery. You can choose to be optimistic about your recovery, rather than let fear or hopelessness take hold. Imagine how you want to feel 6 or 12 months after surgery—strong and active. Picture what you want to be doing, how you want to be moving around. Keep these positive, hopeful pictures in your mind. A positive attitude can also help you keep up a positive mood, which can help with healing. But optimism alone is only part of a good recovery. It's also important to know what to do, such as physical therapy exercises, and what to be careful about. And if you need support or advice, you can plan ahead with the right people before the surgery. When practicing optimism, remember to keep a flexible frame of mind. Expect change, and be ready to adjust to it. How can you practice optimism? Whenever you're having trouble with thinking negative thoughts, expecting the worst, or feeling powerless, try any of these exercises for a few days. · Focus on what's going well. Write down three things that have gone well in the past day. These can be large, like getting a raise, or small, like "I talked with an old friend today." Describe the cause of each event, and credit yourself for the part you played in it, such as "I made that phone call I've been putting off for a long time." · Practice Gratitude. Write down three things in your life that you are grateful for. This kind of focus on what enriches your life can help keep your thoughts and feelings more positive. · Look for the benefits. Think of a negative event from your near or distant past. Write it down. Now think of something positive that has or could come of it. Write it down. For the positive thought, use larger handwriting or a favorite color. · Look ahead. Picture yourself doing something that feels good. Expect good things to happen. · Build yourself up. When you need it, lean on others or your faith to build more strength. Say to yourself often, "I am strong." Blessings Coach Milton Having a purpose is not mandatory it is considered necessary to the fulfillment of life. Each one of us reading this today or in the future will have to leave this life through the doorstep of death. At the end of life is a joyous or burdensome feeling you will get. I believe the feeling is determined by the knowledge of living a life well. Wellness of life will not come down to possessions, it won’t come down to money, it will come down to being on purpose in your dealings with others loved or strangers. A life well lived comes from a purpose pursued every day.
These 5 Positives of Purpose The positives of Purpose: A purpose will motivate you. A purpose will keep your priorities straight. A purpose will develop your potential. A purpose will give you power to live in the present. A purpose will help you evaluate your progress. MM~
Maximizer let this be blessing to you today. As I write this, I write this on purpose and intention to see you maximize any given moment in your life towards success. Blessings Coach Milton Swag generally means to have or do something that is “cool” features. Or I’d say being super confident in the moment. Self worth and value are critical components to the confidence you have. I want share three ways I access my swag or confidence in the moment. The truth is confidence is what appears after you go for what you want; it is the result of stepping into the unknown in spite of feeling nervous or fearful. This can take time, however, and in the meantime there are certain tricks you can implement that temporarily make you feel confident while you work on confidence being a default habitual state.
Example- I am a winner, I am smart, Im a leader, I am confident with all things, I was made for this moment. 2. Who can I serve — This may seem a little different, but follow me here. My whole point of me utilizing this tool in the moment is how I work to take me eyes off of myself and put them on the other person. The first step is evaluating your worth, this step is evelauating the service you will provide for others. Looking at another person with the eyes of love will subdue any worries, frustrations, doubts about the present. Evaluate your worth, then evaluate your heart of service — Milton 3. Stick to what you know- knowing flows from a special well inside. When you are pouring out from that well, you feel the confidence level rise in that situation. Of course, there are situations where you won’t have al the answers you need in that moment. But, don’t lose heart speak boldly and respond with what you know and that you will follow up and find out the rest. Its ok not knowing. Say it with me, “its ok not knowing.” Say it with me, “its ok not knowing.”simplicity is key when it comes to transformation in the moment, allow these keys to help you in those moments you critically need to make those adjustments.
